Hello

if I create a custom field and choose to show it in all three layouts (Checkout billing address layout, Checkout shipping address layout and Checkout payment method layout), it is shown in all three layouts only when I register a new account. On the other hand, if I am already registered and login, the custom field is shown only in the Checkout payment method layout.
This way for example if I create an annotation field where the customer can add note to the order along with the address, when they place a new order this will not be visible/available. Why?

I tested it with a text area and a customtext custom fields.

Antonio,

Can you add you website credentials in the fields below so I can take a look at what you are talking about?

Antonio,

I see what is going on. Custom fields are available in the same places the other fields such as the address would be located. So when an existing user is selecting a stored (existing) address, they won't see the field for their city for example, as it's already saved from a previous order. If they select to add a new address (existing customers) then they would see all the fields that were selected for the shipping/billing just like a new customer who doesn't have any saved addresses would see.

The payment area is where you can place a custom field to ask for additional information than what the existing customer may not have already answered in previous orders (usually if you are asking them for more information that wasn't asked from them in their previous orders).

It would look strange to display custom fields in the area where they are selecting their saved addresses so the only way you can currently display a custom field in the shipping or billing area for existing customers is if they add a new address (and then they would see the new custom field along with the other new address fields).

Site looks great by the way!
