Hi there,

I tried to find a solution to my problem in the other tickets and I found this ticket -  https://www.j2commerce.com/support/technical-support/116-unable-to-slect-zone-in-chackout-registration - that was similar. But my issue is that I have only made Canada available for accounts to be set up in (my client can't send to the USA right now), and yet the zone list is not showing Canadian provinces and territories but USA states. I tried following all the suggestions in the other support ticket. I set up hidden menu items for the checkout, shopping cart, and my account pages. And I looked at the j2 > setup > custom fields and changed the default country from United States to Canada, but I'm still having the same issue.

I recently set up another site with J2Store and I never had this issue before so I'm not sure what is causing the problem now. I've compared the 2 sites side by side with the configuration of the store software and I don't see any differences.  Please help!!

Olivier

Hello Tristina,

we had that issue in the past for a couple users and every time it was because they were missing menu items for checkout and cart. You need those pages even if just hidden.

Let me know if that solves your issue.

Thank you!

Olivier.

Hi Olivier,

As I mentioned in my message, I did set those up prior to putting in this ticket. I tried all the suggestion in the other ticket before putting in my request. I will say that I did update the component to the newest version yesterday, could this be because of that?

Thanks!

Olivier

We have not fixed anything about geozones recently.

Which version did you upgrade from?

I was going to say it may a problem of configuration but you seem to have setup 2 different sites the same way...

What is the J2Commerce version of the site that works?

Olivier.

Tristina Miller

The site that is working is using version 4.0.10 and the site that is not working is using the newest version 4.0.12. I don't remember what version I updated it from, I just went through all the updates yesterday for the website software.

Olivier

What I would do to figure the issue out:

  • take a backup of the working site
  • install on a developement subdomain site
  • update to 4.0.12
  • check that the geozones still work.

That will tell us if the problem comes from the update or if it is un-related.

If you do not want to go through that process, you can give us access to the working site and we can try it out for you.

Hi Olivier,

I would appreciate you taking a look. I did provide J2 with an admin username and password in the hidden content for the support ticket. Please let me know if you need anything else. :)

Thank you!

Tristina Miller

Were you able to get access and take a look? Sorry to bother you, the client is asking...

Thanks!

Olivier

Yes, thanks Tristina, I was able to get in :-)

Olivier

Ok, I am a bit confused... did you give us the 'working' site information?

I see the zones working properly.

And you already are under J2Commerce v4.0.12.

Am I missing something?

Olivier.

Hi,

OK, that is just wierd!! I tested it on 2 devices and multiple browsers when I put in the ticket and it wasn't working. Now it is working... Thanks for looking into it, sorry for the bother.

Olivier

I think I know what happened.

You were still on the old url, before adding the hidden checkout menu. Probably a chaching issue.

Here is a comparison of the url your reported and the url, now that you have the menu item set.

In any case, working now it seems :-)
