Thank you for taking on the Jooml project, I have been a bit worried to say the least over the last few years. I have had a J2store/Joomla site for a long time. Was very happy no major problems then Joomal 4 came along.
I managed to get a Joomla 4 now 5 site running with a J2store 4 version very early version I think it was their first try. None of the apps I needed were even available then the guys packed it in a long time after I got the J2store version 4 and was still waiting for app upgrades. This was on a second site not public. I continued using my original site Joomla 3.3 with the J2store 3 (it is still staggering on). I am going to try upgrading on a copy of the old site see how that goes, and will let you know.
The second site I used to try another app Eshop on Joomla 5. Turns out a shipping app was not available for Canada, plus I thought it was a bit overdone and to use one of the terms I heard on the Joomla London youtube "a bit to heavy" I tried to install the J2commerce app it installed Ok but had problems I think mainly due to me being sloppy.
I uninstalled the Eshop it will never darken my doorstep again. But It left a lot of tables in my Dbase for that site along with some of the J2store Dbase tables that were left from the previous J2store 4 attempt which I removed. To try the Eshop app.
I am going to install the J2Commerce app in both sites, but I am wondering should I play safe and remove all the J2Store and Eshop tables from the Dbase to save any problems. If you think it best just start again with a new site Jomla 5 and J2commerce I will do so, I am thinking the bata J2store ver 4 is causing the problem. Or the remnents are.
On a happy note I watched the interveiw/conversation on U-tube I was heartened by the infomation, especially about the Membership app. also putting faces to the guys at the other end of this post is somhow reassuring. Looking forward to a stable future, Thank you.
